Girls Against Boys, ULU London

I've had my doubts about GVSBs direction (or lack of movement) these last couple of years but there's always one thing you can rely on where these people are concerned: a killer live show.

There's nothing quite like the aural slapping that is the GVSB twin bass attack and the growl of Scott McCloud just floating along (and almost away) on top of the seething pulsating noise they make so well. Not only that, but the new tunes are sounding fresh, different and as good as the total classics like "Bulletproof Cupid". Ignore anyone who says they've lost it or they've gone weak, because the truth is that GVSB are running as hard as ever, and they're still ahead of the crowd. (Drew)
